This was Ellen's pick for favorite plant one year and we know why - it's a stunning, native variety of Rudbeckia which grows 4-5 feet tall. It has a narrowly upright shape. The blooms are 2 inches across and a brilliant yellow starburst color. The flower petals are completely quilled and there is a brown center cone. The foliage smells of vanilla! Commonly called "Brown Eye Susan."
